Introduction

TeraForge™ is a visual integrated development environment for developing, debugging, and testing Teradata® BTEQ scripts, stored procedures, and MACROs. Additionally, it can also be used as a general purpose query and data analysis tool.

Current functionality includes:

  • User-friendly, drag-and-drop editting of scripts, procedures, and macros
  • Drag and drop ad-hoc query editting and project creation.
  • Single stepping through scripts, macros, or stored procedures, a single statement at a time
  • Stepping into or over embedded runfile, macro, or stored procedure calls.
  • Setting breakpoints
  • Examining intermediate results of variables, parameters, and tables/views
  • Manually modifying variable and parameter values during execution, including shell variables used within scripts
  • Pre-compiling scripts to check for syntax errors
  • Monitoring execution of SQL statements in near real-time
  • Easy to use tree-based schema browser
  • EXPLAIN individual SQL statements
  • Executing ad-hoc queries

  • Plotting datasets into line, point, area, candlestick, barchart, histogram, boxchart, or quadtree graphs.

TeraForge™ provides a quantum leap in productivity for the Teradata® developer. With the ability to interactively develop, test, and debug your Teradata components, the days of "trial and error" development are now only a painful memory, along with the associated lengthy development cycles and frequent production deployment failures.

384 MBytes RAM
10 Megs disk space
Network connection
Client Libraries NONE
Database Teradata V2R4.1 or better
Use of TeraForge with production database systems is discouraged. Presicient recommends using the Teradata® for Windows demo version for primary development and test.

If you are interested in participating in the beta test, review the Call for Beta Testers for instructions on submitting your application. Once accepted, you will be given a password to allow you to download the latest beta version, and gain access to the full user document and tutorial material.
Note: Organizations participating in the beta test will be eligible for a 50% discount off the list price of TeraForge during the first 12 months of general availability, subject to certain restrictions.
